536 Public Discussion Time
A member of the public spoke against Planning Application No. 2008/60/90900 outline application for the erection of a dwelling to the rear of 26 Thorpes Avenue, Denby Dale.
537 Apologies for Absence
Apologies for absence were submitted by Cllrs A Heaton, D Kaye, K Thursby and G Turner. It was RESOLVED that the reasons for absence submitted by the above councillors be accepted as valid.
538 Declarations of Councillors’ Interests
There were no declarations of interest.
539 Minutes
It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 18 March 2008 be received.
540 Kirklees Council LDF Consultation Affordable Housing
The Clerk submitted a consultation document from Kirklees Council regarding affordable housing. Members made comments on the document. In particular members were concerned that the proportion of affordable housing proposed as 20% of a site’s capacity should be at least 30% in line with the proposals published by Wakefield Council; that there should be a set number of dwellings for small areas such as the villages within the parish where small developments are more likely to be built and that with sites of up to 4 dwellings, there should be a fixed 5% contribution irrespective of the number of houses up to four. It was RESOLVED that these comments be submitted to Kirklees Council.
541 Planning Notifications
Planning notifications were considered and observations made thereon. It was RESOLVED that Planning Application No. 2008/62/90797 by Fortis Homes and Somerfield for the erection of a foodstore with 14 apartments over at 108-112 Wakefield Road be considered at the full council meeting to be held on 6 May 2008.
