Mix Of Men And Women

The breakdown of the population by gender shows a slightly higher percentage of women over men compared with the national average.  According to the 2001 census, women make  up 51.5% of the population in Denby Dale compared with 51.3% for England and Wales and 51.4% for Kirklees.  In 1991, the female population was considerably below the national average.
