Denby Dale Parish Environment Trust

Introduction

The Trust was formed in 1997 as an independent registered charity (Charity Registration 1073013). It aims to

    “….support and facilitate community environmental activity which works to conserve, enhance and sustain the natural and human environment of the Denby Dale Parish.”

Membership is broad and is open to representatives of activity groups, local businesses, schools and other organisations and interested individuals.  There are nine trustees, including a nominee from the local Parish Council.

Open meetings are held approximately three times a year and trustees meetings are held every two months.  All meetings are held  in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, Skelmanthorpe unless otherwise indicated.  Details of meetings can be obtained by contacting the Parish Council on 01484 222963 or the Countryside Officer on 01484 222960.

Forthcoming meetings

18 September AGM starting at 7.30 followed immediately by Open Meeting starting at 8pm - Guest Speaker Simon Pedley, Countryside Officer for Kirklees Council in charge of nature reserves.

  • Hedgerow Survey 2004
    Denby Dale Parish Environment Trust's Survey of local hedgerows, completed in Summer 2004.
  • Landscape Guidelines 2006
    The development of these guidelines follows the completion in November 2002 of a Landscape Character Study of the Parish. The document is aimed at all of those who have an interest in the management of land in the Denby Dale Parish.
