Following representations from members of the public at February’s meeting with regard to the promised sports and community facilities on the development at Station Road Skelmanthorpe not now being provided, the Council took steps to try and get this facility back on the rails. Councillors Tony Barlow and Colin Watson were able to meet with the Dunford family on behalf of the community and were successful in negotiating an agreement to provide the facilities originally promised. The Council believe that they could be of further assistance in getting this project off the ground and have resolved to ask the Parkgate trust if two members of the Council could be invited to join the committee.
