166 Apologies for Absence
Apologies for absence from the meeting were submitted by Cllrs H Cole, A Heaton, E Shaw, A Tribe, G Turner and K Waites. It was RESOLVED that the reasons for absence submitted by the above councillors be accepted as valid.
167 Minutes
It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 31 July be agreed and signed as a correct record.
168 Energy Saving
Further to Minute No. 149 the Clerk submitted correspondence from Vicky Dumbrell enclosing information about energy audits and the schools project, School Climate Champions. It was RESOLVED that Kirklees MC be asked to carry out an energy audit of the council offices and that the information about the schools project be sent to all schools within the parish.
169 Referral of Applications to Planning Committee
Further to Minute No. 150, the Clerk submitted correspondence from Mary Creagh MP confirming that she had written to Kirklees MC expressing concern that Parish Councils no longer have the right to refer planning applications to the full planning committee. The Clerk also submitted details of the 2005 report to the Planning & Highways Committee proposing that the right of referral to the planning sub-committees by parish or town councils be removed. It was RESOLVED that the correspondence and the report be noted.
170 Planning Enforcement Issue
Further to Minute No. 155, the Clerk reported that she had invited a planning enforcement officer to attend a future meeting of the Committee and that confirmation was awaited. It was RESOLVED that the report be noted.
171 Planning Decisions
Further to Minute No. 155, the Clerk submitted correspondence from John Ritchie, confirming that planning officers had been asked to ensure that in future the reasons for decisions taken on applications by Kirklees MC which differ from parish council recommendations be recorded on the comments sheet. It was RESOLVED that the correspondence be noted.
172 Planning Notifications
Planning notifications were considered and observations made thereon.
173 Planning Decisions
The Clerk submitted a list of planning decisions. It was RESOLVED that these be noted.
