Minutes of the Annual Meeting of Denby Dale Parish Council held on Tuesday 4 May 2010 in the Civic Chamber, Council Offices, Skelmanthorpe

1597 Election of Chair
RESOLVED that Cllr Waites be appointed Chair of the Parish Council until the next Annual Council Meeting. The declaration of acceptance was duly signed.
1598 Vote of Thanks to Retiring Chair
Cllr Waites thanked the outgoing Chair for his conduct of the meetings during the past civic year.
RESOLVED that Cllr Waites be thanked for his commitment to carrying out his duties as Vice Chair.
1599 Election of Vice Chair
RESOLVED that Cllr T Sigsworth be appointed Vice-Chair of the Council until the next Annual Council Meeting.
1600 Declaration of Councillors’ Interests
No interests were declared.
1601 Apologies for Absence
Reasons for absence from the meeting were submitted from Cllrs M Mills, T Sigsworth, S Simpson. Apologies for lateness were submitted from Cllr Brook.
RESOLVED that reasons for absence and lateness submitted be accepted as valid.
1602 Appointment of Plans Scrutiny Committee and Election of Chair and Vice-Chair
RESOLVED that the Plans Scrutiny Committee shall meet on such occasions as the Chair deems appropriate to discuss matters appertaining to the future development of the district with plenary powers to act in an emergency and that the Committee shall comprise the following members to hold office until the next Annual Council Meeting:

RESOLVED that Cllr E Shaw and Cllr V Buyer be appointed Chair and Vice-Chair respectively of the Plans Scrutiny Committee until the next Annual Council Meeting.
1603 Appointment of Finance & General Purposes Committee and Election of Chair and Vice-Chair
RESOLVED that the Finance and General Purposes Committee shall meet on such occasions as the Chair deems appropriate to discuss matters involving expenditure and such matters as the Council shall from time to time determine and that the Committee shall comprise the following members to hold office until the next Annual Council Meeting:

RESOLVED that Cllr R Brook and Cllr N Wilson be appointed Chair and Vice-Chair respectively of the Finance and General Purposes Committee until the next Annual Council Meeting.
1604 Appointment of Staffing Committee
RESOLVED that the Staffing Committee should meet on such occasions as the Chair deems appropriate to discuss employment matters and that the Committee shall comprise the Chairs and Vice Chairs of the Council and the Finance and General Purposes Committee. Cllrs K Waites, Cllr T Sigsworth, Cllr R Brook and Cllr N Wilson will therefore serve on the Staffing Committee until the next Annual Council Meeting:
1605 Appointment of Appeals Committee
RESOLVED that the Appeals Committee should meet on such occasions as required. All members of the Finance & General Purposes Committee who are not members of the Staffing Committee will serve on the Appeals Committee until the next Annual Council meeting.
1606 Appointment of the Working Party on Public Transport
RESOLVED that Cllrs R Brook, A Hinde King and K Waites be appointed to the Working Party on Public Transport.
1607 Appointment of Business Plan Sub Group
RESOLVED that Cllrs R Brook, G Coleman, C Rimmer, G Turner and S Wild be appointed to the Business Plan Sub Group.
1608 Appointment of Heritage Working Group
RESOLVED that Cllrs M Barlow, R Brook, E Shaw, A Tribe, K Waites and S Wild be appointed to the Heritage Working Party.
1609 Appointment of Representatives to the Denby Dale Parish Environment Trust
RESOLVED that Cllr I Purkiss be appointed to serve as the Parish Council’s representative on the Executive Committee of the Environment Trust and that Cllr G Turner be appointed as the Parish Council’s ordinary representative on the Environment Trust.
1610 Appointment of Representatives to the Steering Group of the Denby Dale Parish Countryside Project
RESOLVED that Cllrs G Turner and N Wilson be appointed to serve as the Parish Council’s representatives on the Steering Group of the Denby Dale Parish Countryside Project.
1611 Appointment of Voting Representatives to the Yorkshire Local Councils Associations
RESOLVED that Cllrs E Shaw and V Buyer be appointed as representatives to the Yorkshire Local Councils Associations.
1612 Public Rights of Way Forum
RESOLVED that Cllr A Stimson be appointed as representative to the Public Rights of Way Forum.
1613 Historic Buildings Trust
RESOLVED that Cllr N Wilson be appointed as representative to the Historic Buildings Trust.
1614 Clayton West Millennium Green Trust
RESOLVED that Cllr S Simpson be appointed as representative to the Clayton West Millennium Green Trust.
1615 Appointment of Representative to the Denby Dale Centre
RESOLVED that Cllr Brook be appointed as representative to the Denby Dale Centre.
1616 Appointment of Two Representatives to the Denby Dale/Kirkburton LIG
RESOLVED that Cllr R Brook be appointed as one of two representatives to the LIG and that the appointment of the second representative be deferred to the June meeting.
1617 Appointment of Representatives to the Denby Dale Area Committee
RESOLVED that Cllrs R Brook, G Coleman, A Hinde King, K Waites, A Weston and S Wild be appointed as representatives of the Parish Council on the Area Committee:
1618 Appointment of Representative to Denby Dale Nursery Governing Body
RESOLVED that Cllr G Coleman be appointed to serve on the Governing Body of Denby Dale Nursery.
1619 Subscriptions
RESOLVED that a decision about subscriptions be deferred to the June meeting of the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
