Denby Dale is steeped in history, and is first recorded in the history books as Denby Dyke, where the turnpike road crossed the River Dearne…some of the villages in the surrounding area have a history that goes back even further…click on villages find out more…
And of course, the famous Denby Dale Pie has been a regular event since the very first one in 1788 - hence the themed link button! See the "pie" link for more of the history of these monsters!

- Denby Dale Local Dialects
Yorkshire dialects vary greatly across each of the Ridings. Denby Dale is part of the West Riding.
- Denby Dale Pie
The famous Denby Dale Pies are a 220 year old village tradition; usually baked to celebrate national special occasions and events. These are not your normal run-of-the-mill pies – these are monster meat, and sometimes potato, pies that have been registered in the Guinness Book of Records in past years!

- Denby Dale War Memorial
The village war memorial is situated at the rear of the small car park opposite the Post Office. Each year, the memorial acts as a focus of remembrance for the village to remember those who fell during the wars.

The Railway Viaduct is one of the main landmarks of the village - as it strides across the Dearne Valley carrying the Penistone Railway Line across it.
