Cllr Barlow is a retired deputy headteacher, having worked in secondary schools for 35 years, with the last 25 years in Kirklees. He has been a member of the Parish Council for 8 years and was previously Chair of the Council in 2005/6. Tony, originally a Geordie, has lived in Denby Dale with his family for more than 30 years. He continues to be interested in rural and environmental matters and retains a keen interest in education, serving as a governor at Scissett Middle School and Shelley College.
