Profile
Kelvyn Waites was elected to the council in 2007. His interest and experience are varied, most of which would qualify him as a 'people' person. Now retired (three times), the majority of his career was spent working for in personnel for ICI and its successors for 25 years in different parts of the UK. He has a lifelong interest and involvement in public transport - as an enthusiast, full time professional, director of his own bus and coach company and driver for over forty years. Thus it is no surprise that he is appointed to the Rural Transport Partnership. Kelvyn's other main interest is in the amateur stage, appearing frequently in various productions in the Huddersfield and Halifax areas. Now widowed, his son and family live in Skelmanthorpe and his two grandchildren attend local schools.
