Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on Tuesday, 6 May 2008 in the Civic Chamber, Council Offices, Skelmanthorpe

In Attendance: Hazel Chowcat (Parish Clerk) Kenneth Haigh, Mrs Parry, Mrs Bliss, Philip Reynolds
Apologies: Cllrs M Barlow, J A Barlow, A Heaton, D Kaye, M Mills, C Rimmer, T Sigsworth, S Simpson and A Tribe.
1. Minutes of the Last Annual Parish Meeting It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 15 May 2007 be signed by the Chair as a correct record.
2. Annual Report of the Parish Council The Chair of the Council presented the Annual Report of the Parish Council for the year 2007/2008. It was RESOLVED that the report be received.
3. Annual Report of the School Governors Cllr Wilson presented a written report as school governor of Shelley College and Cllr Waites presented a written report as school governor of Scissett First School. It was RESOLVED that the reports be received and that appreciation be expressed to all schools and governors for the efforts undertaken during the past twelve months.
4. Reports from District Councillors No district councillors were available to present reports.
5. Reports from Voluntary Organisations with Official Representatives of the Council 5.1 Denby Parish Accident Committee Mrs Parry gave a verbal report on the work carried out during the past year. It was RESOLVED that the report be received.
5.2 Denby Dale Environment Trust Cllr Sue Simpson presented a written report on the work of the Environment Trust and it was RESOLVED that the report be received.
5.3 Public Rights of Way Forum Cllr Stimson gave a verbal report on the Forum. It was RESOLVED that the report be received.
5.4 Rural Transport Partnership Cllrs Shaw and Waites presented a written report on the work of the Rural Transport Partnership. It was RESOLVED that the report be received.
5.5 Denby Dale Centre Cllr Brook gave a verbal report on the work of the Denby Dale Centre. It was RESOLVED that the report be received.
6 Clayton West Millennium Green Trust Ronnie Mottram submitted a written report on the work carried out by the Trust during the preceding twelve months. He indicated in his report that due to health reasons he was resigning as the Parish Council’s appointed Trustee to the Green. It was RESOLVED that the report be received and that a letter of thanks be sent to Mr Mottram.
7 Thanks to Chair Appreciation was expressed for the way Cllr Turner had conducted the meetings during the past Civic Year.
9. Thanks to Press and Public The Chair thanked everyone present for their attendance and the meeting closed at approximately 7.30pm.
