Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on Tuesday 16 May 2006 in the Civic Chamber, Council Offices, Skelmanthorpe at 7.00 pm

Minutes of the Last Annual Parish Meeting

It was proposed by Clr. Weatherby, seconded by Clr. Mrs. J.E. Birdsall, and RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 17th May, 2005 be signed by the Chair as a correct record.

Annual Report of the Parish Council

The Chair of the Council presented the Annual Report of the Parish Council for the year 2005/2006.  It was proposed by Clr. Weatherby, seconded by Clr. Mottram and RESOLVED that the report be received.

Annual Report of the School Governors

The meeting considered the annual reports of the following representative school governors: verbal –Clr. R.G. Allen – Denby Dale Nursery School;   Written – Ian Morley – Gilthwaites First School, Denby Dale.
It was proposed by Clr. Weatherby, seconded by Clr. Mottram and RESOLVED that the reports be received and that appreciation be expressed to all schools and governors for the efforts undertaken during the past twelve months.

Reports from District Councillors

Clr. Mrs. Blanshard and Clr. Dodds gave reports on the work that they had undertaken during the past twelve months on behalf of the electorate of the Denby Dale Ward.  It was proposed by Clr. Weatherby, seconded by Clr. Allen and RESOLVED that the District Councillors be thanked for their reports.

Reports from Voluntary Organisations with Official Representatives of the Council

Road Safety Committee: Clr. J.C. Birdsall of the Road Safety Committee gave a report on the work carried out during the past year.  Clr. Birdsall thanked the Parish Council for its support and expressed appreciation of the work carried out by the Secretary, Mr. K. Haigh.  It was proposed by Clr. Weatherby, seconded by Clr. Allen and RESOLVED that the report be received.

Home Safety Committee:  Mrs. W. Parry of the Home and Leisure Safety Committee, gave a report on the work carried out during the past year.  Mrs. Parry thanked the Parish Council for its support and appreciation was expressed of the work that the Secretary, Mr. K. Haigh, had carried out on the Committee’s behalf.  It was proposed by Clr. Weatherby seconded by Clr. Allen and RESOLVED that the report be received.

Denby Dale Parish Environment Trust
 
Clr. Barlow and Clr. Mottram gave reports on the work of the Environment Trust.  It was proposed by Clr. Allen, seconded by Clr. Weatherby and RESOLVED that the reports be received.

Clayton West Millennium Green Trust

Clr. Mottram reported on the work carried out by the Trust during the preceding twelve months.  It was proposed by Clr. Weatherby, seconded by Clr. J.C. Birdsall and RESOLVED that the report be received.

Thanks to Chair

Appreciation was expressed for the way Clr. Barlow had conducted the meetings during the past Civic Year.

The Chair thanked everyone present for their attendance and the meeting closed at approximately 8.05 p.m.
