In Attendance: Hazel Chowcat, Clerk

1472 Open Session
Two members of the public, Ms Crew and Mr Toon, attended the meeting to speak in favour of their planning application No. 2009/62/93642.

1473 Agenda
RESOLVED
that Planning Application No. 2009/62/93642 from Agenda Item No. 6 be brought forward.

1474 Planning Application No. 2009/62/93642
Members discussed the above application.

RESOLVED that the Council object due to the impact on the visual and residential amenity of neighbouring properties. The Council welcomes the reduction in the size of the proposed dwelling but has concerns that the property will overlook 14 Rishworth Avenue. In addition, the Council believes that permitting this ‘garden grab’ will set a precedent and lead to other similar applications in neighbouring properties.

1475 Declarations of Councillors’ Interests
There were no declarations of interest.

1476 Apologies for Absence
Reasons for absence were submitted by Cllrs Shaw and Wilson.

RESOLVED that the reasons for absence submitted by all these Councillors be accepted as valid.

1477 Admission of the Public
RESOLVED
that there were no items requiring the exclusion of the press and public.

1478 Minutes
RESOLVED
that the minutes of the meeting held on 15 December 2009 be received.

1479 Planning Notifications
Planning notifications were considered and observations made thereon.

1480 Planning Decisions
Planning decisions were considered and observations made thereon. It was noted that there were two applications which had been refused, despite the council having not objections. These reasons were as follows:

2009/62/92985 Erection of conservatory to rear at 11 Brook Meadows, Denby Dale: By reason of its size and projection it would have a detrimental impact on the amenities of the occupiers of the adjacent properties contrary to Policy BE14 of the UDP

2009/62/93286 Erection of dormer extension at Rose Cottage, Crown Street, Scissett: Proposed dormer by reason of its size, design and location would appear incongruous and overdominant in relation to the host building and would have an overbearing and detrimental effect on the streetscene contrary to Policies D2 and BE15 of the UDP

RESOLVED that the report be noted.
